13% of Americans to get vaccinated over 2 months to reach Biden’s goal
White House COVID-19 senior advisor Jeff Zients stated on Friday that in order to reach President Joe Biden’s goal of having 70% of adults vaccinated with at least one dose by Independence day on July 4, it is necessary that at least 13% or 42.7 million of Americans must receive their shots over the next 60 days.
Zients also noted that by the end of Friday two goals will be achieved: 110 million people or 33.5% of the population will be fully vaccinated and 150 million of adults in the US will have received at least one dose.
In order to ramp up the vaccination process, authorities have created easier and more convenient ways of getting the shot, such as pharmacy walk-ins with no scheduled appointments necessary.
