15 more VW executives linked to ‘dieselgate’ – report
Investigators have levied accusations against a further 15 Volkswagen Group executives for their alleged roles in the emissions scandal or “dieselgate,” German media reported on Saturday.
According to reports, apart from the executives, a supplier for the car manufacturer was also involved in the affair. The investigators have sent a 1,500-page report to the Braunschweig regional court detailing their findings and it is up to the court to file formal indictments.
Klaus Ziehe, the chief public prosecutor, stated that the people involved are “accused of aiding and abetting fraud with tax evasion, aiding and abetting indirect false certification and criminal advertising,” as investigations into the emissions scandal have expanded in multiple regions of Germany.
