A 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit Japan on Monday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
The epicenter was 140 kilometers north-east from Saitama, which has a population of around 1,194 million.
The tremor struck the region at a 51 kilometers and no tsunami watch was issued as of yet.
