73% vote for Russian constitutional reform, first results show
Russia’s Central Elections Commission said that the first official results from the country’s far east show that 72.92% voted in favor of the proposed constitutional amendments.
The commission added that the nationwide turnout for the vote stood at over 60% by 1 pm CET.
The constitutional reform was suggested by the government would allow President Vladimir Putin to run for office again and rule until 2036.
