Government supports jobless aid extension – Mnuchin
United States Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin stated the Trump administration is up for lengthening extra unemployment benefits but at a reduced level.
He noted that the government doesn’t want “a short-term extension either, we want something till the end of the year,” adding the initial language of the legislation is expected to come up on Monday.
Earlier this week, Mnuchin noted that the unemployment extensions will be based on a “70% wage replacement.”
