Russia ready to continue START talks with US – Ryabkov
Russia stands ready to continue talks with the United States on the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START), country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov (pictured) said on Tuesday.
Ryabkov asserted that, while Kremlin hasn’t set a deadline for the start of the disarmament treaty negotiations, Moscow isn’t ready to wait for a long period of time, adding that “the clock is ticking.”
United States Under Secretary of State for Arms Control, Marshall Billingslea, unveiled on Sunday that Washington is looking to extent the START deal until a new agreement between the two countries is reached.
