Iran reports daily record in COVID-19 cases
Iran set a new record for the most registered cases of COVID-19 in a single day since the start of the pandemic, health officials said on Tuesday. In the previous 24 hours, health authorities in Iran recorded 3,712 new coronavirus patients, bringing the total number of infected individuals with COVID-19 since February to 429,193.
Additionally, 178 people passed away from the coronavirus over the past 24 hours. The death toll from the virus in Iran now stands at 24,656.
The jump in cases in Iran comes after the World Health Organization (WHO) warned that COVID-19 is spreading more quickly lately, but that the death rate is declining.
