Sen. Ron Johnson tests positive for COVID-19
Republican Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson tested positive for COVID-19, his press office confirmed on Saturday, as the virus hit a number of individuals on Capitol Hill, including United States President Donald Trump.
Johnson was in quarantine for 14 days since mid-September and had two negative tests for COVID-19 after having been exposed to someone with the virus. However, the senator was exposed to an infected individual again on September 29, his office said.
Among the political elite in Washington DC others that have been infected with the coronavirus include First Lady Melania Trump, Senator Mike Lee, Senator Thom Tillis, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, White House advisor Hope Hicks, Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien and former presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway.
