Italy posts record number of daily virus cases at over 10,000
Over the last 24 hours, 10,010 new cases of the coronavirus were registered in Italy, the latest official data showed on Friday.
The figure represents a new record in daily virus cases in the country, which was one of Europe’s most affected countries during the first wave of COVID-19 earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the number of people who died as a result of the virus was 55, less than the 83 reported in Thursday’s update.
