Trump: China wants me to be happy
United States President Donald Trump said on Saturday that two weeks ago, China “ordered the largest order of corn in the history of our country,” as well as soybeans and beef “because they think I’m going to win and they want to have me be happy.”
Trump claimed that the US “took in much more than $28 billion, we took in $28 billion many times” from China in tariffs, and gave $28 billion to American farmers, who are now “all in good shape.” He said that the trade deal signed with China was “brilliant” but that he does not “feel the same way” about it since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, for which he blames China.
