EU’s economic recovery slower than expected – Dombrovskis
European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis asserted on Wednesday that the economic recovery amid the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic will ensue at a slower pace “than was previously expected.”
Speaking at a press conference after the ECOFIN meeting, Dombrovskis noted that the “pandemic had a massive impact on the economy” and stressed that the European Union’s future measures and regulations need to be recovery-conducive.
The official made a similar notion in late October, underlining, at that time, that the EU stands ready to approve additional fiscal measures to support economies of its member states.
