Sunak considering new measures for UK economy
United Kingdom Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak said on Thursday that he is looking into a range of measures to help the British economy recover from the coronavirus crisis.
Speaking to Sky News, Sunak said: “We want to get the economy going strongly coming out of this… to get consumers spending again. So we’ll look at a range of things to see what the right interventions are.”
Earlier in November, the UK extended its furlough scheme until the end of March. Amid the coronavirus crisis, the UK is also still negotiating its Brexit deal with the European Union and hoping for a new trade deal with the US.
