Lawyer that alleged voter fraud not working for Trump – campaign
United States President Donald Trump’s election campaign in a statement said lawyer Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own and not as a member of the president’s legal team after she backed conspiracy theories about the presidential election.
“She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity,” Trump campaign lawyers explained in the statement after Powell faced backlash for alleging the head of state lost Georgia because the state’s Governor Brian Kemp took a bribe.
Following President-elect Joe Biden’s victory declaration, Trump claimed he actually won the election if only the “legal votes” are counted, suggesting widespread voter fraud was responsible for his loss.
