India registers 44,059 daily virus cases, 511 deaths
The number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus disease in India on Sunday landed at 44,059 bringing its total to 9,139,865, according to the country’s Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
Meanwhile, the South Asian nation’s COVID-19 death toll increased to 133,738 after the health officials confirmed 511 additional virus-related fatalities. On the other hand, the total number of nationwide recoveries reached 8,562,641, rising by 41,024 in the twenty-four hours since the last update was released.
The country stands second worldwide in the number of infections reported daily, lagging only behind the United States.
