Hamilton wins Bahrain GP in race delayed over Grosjean crash
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton won the Bahrain GP on Sunday in a race that was paused and delayed on lap one after Romain Grosjean suffered a horrific crash.
The French Haas-Ferrari driver’s car struck a barrier and caught fire but he managed to escape with “minor burns on his hands and ankles.” In the restarted race, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen came in second behind Hamilton, while his teammate Alexander Albon was third after Racing Point’s Sergio Perez was forced to quit due to an engine issue with three laps to go.
Last week, Hamilton secured a record 7th Formula 1 title after winning the Turkish Grand Prix.
