Baker Hughes: US adds 5 oil rigs
The number of oil rigs in the United States increased by 5 to 263 in the week ending December 18 compared to the previous week, according to the Baker Hughes rig count data released on Friday. On an annual basis, the number of oil rigs was down by 422.
Meanwhile, the number of US gas rigs rose by 2 to 81, bringing the total number of rigs in the country to 346, including two miscellaneous.
In Canada, the number of oil rigs decreased by 11 to 41, while gas rigs were up by 2 to 61. The country’s total rig count stood at 102. Compared to the previous year, Canada’s oil rigs were down by 47.
