COVID-19 Brazil: 58,428 new cases, 762 deaths
Brazilian health authorities revealed that 58,428 people nationwide tested positive for the coronavirus in the past twenty-four hours, taking the number of cases seen to date to 7,423,945.
The South American nation currently stands second worldwide in the number of total cases confirmed, behind the United States and India, and lags only behind the US in the number of infections registered daily.
The health ministry’s data also showed virus-related fatalities going up by 762 during the same time period to stand at 189,982, while the cumulative number of recoveries from the illness rose to a total of 6,448,740.
