Trump blasts Twitter for ‘going wild’ with flagging
United States President Donald Trump in a tweet condemned Twitter for flagging posts as potentially misleading content underscoring the necessity of terminating Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act which protects social media companies from taking legal responsibility for the content users posted on their platform.
Trump wrote: “Twitter is going wild with their flags, trying hard to suppress even the truth. Just shows how dangerous they are, purposely stifling free speech. Very dangerous for our Country. Does Congress know that this is how Communism starts? Cancel Culture at its worst. End Section 230!”
The law in question shields companies from being hit with lawsuits regarding user’s posts, also allowing them to moderate said content.
