GOP Sen. Graham urges standalone vote on $2,000 checks
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham called on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to accept to separate vote on $2,000 relief checks from the other two topics to increase the chances of the legislation’s approval.
“If you had a standalone vote on the $2,000 check, it might pass” the Senate, Graham said in an interview with Fox News, noting that he stands by President Donald Trump on this matter despite minority support from the GOP.
McConnell once again refused to allow the vote on increased stimulus during last night’s session, stressing the Congress should consider more targeted financial aid for households impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
