Israel ends year with most administered vaccines per capita
The Israeli Health Ministry revealed on Thursday the country has vaccinated over 7% of its 9.2 million population against the COVID-19, more than any other country in the world.
While the country reported around 420,000 positive cases since the start of the pandemic, it successfully inoculated about 650,000 for just nine days of the campaign. Commenting on the rollout, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously said that Israel is “ahead of the world in bringing and giving the vaccines,” adding that his mission is “to ensure that the country continues at this pace.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Anthony Fauci criticized the “disappointing” COVID-19 vaccine distribution speed in the United States, shortly after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said only 2.8 million vaccine doses were actually administered out of 12.4 million jabs distributed across the country’s hospitals.
