Iran to begin vaccination with Sputnik V next week
Iranian Minister of Health and Medical Education Said Namaki unveiled on Sunday the vaccination against COVID-19 in the country with Gamaleya Institute’s Sputnik V vaccine is set to start on Tuesday.
The Middle East country will prioritize medical staff who treat coronavirus-infected patients in intensive care units across Iran, while the “rest of the medical staff, citizens in nursing homes and people over 65 years old” are scheduled to receive the jab in the next phase, the minister said.
Earlier this week, a study revealed that Sputnik V proved to be 91.6% effective in preventing COVID-19.
