Minister: UK not looking to introduce vaccine passports
The British government is not considering an option to introduce vaccine passports for people who have received a jab against the coronavirus, United Kingdom Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi claimed on Sunday.
Speaking in an interview with Sky News, Zahawi also said the government is “very concerned” by low levels of vaccination in certain communities nationwide, adding that the country will probably need a “booster in the autumn” or annual vaccinations to contain new variants of the virus.
“That’s the immediate task. At the same time, it’s also plan for the future, which is why we’ve talked to all the manufacturers. The limiting factor is vaccine supply, it remains finite,” the minister stressed.
