US to take ‘firm action’ against Myanmar military – Blinken
United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken (pictured) claimed that Washington intends to take “firm action” against the Myanmarese military after it violently suppressed street protests against seizing power in the country.
“The United States will continue to take firm action against those who perpetrate violence against the people of Burma as they demand the restoration of their democratically elected government. We stand with the people of Burma,” the secretary posted on Twitter.
Previously, the US embassy in Myanmar condemned a “fatal shooting of protestors in Mandalay,” urging coup leaders to “stop violence against the people of Myanmar.”
