Twitter discussed buying ShareChat – report
Twitter Inc. negotiated the acquisition of Indian social media startup ShareChat, TechCrunch reported on Monday, citing three unnamed insiders familiar with the matter.
The US company reportedly offered $1.1 billion for the acquisition and pledged to invest $900 million, but the discussions have stopped since.
In addition, Twitter also explored the possibility of advancing ShareChat-owned short video app Moj, which has 80 million users, to a level where it could compete with TikTok.
