Germany could sanction Myanmar – Maas
German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas (pictured) asserted on Monday that Berlin could decide to impose sanctions on Myanmar leadership.
He described the latest developments in the Asian country as “concerning,” and stressed that Germany can’t “stand by” and watch, but also underlined that the sanctions represent the last resort.
The United States announced earlier that it plans to take “firm action” against the Burmese military due to the way it suppressed the street protests.
