US adds 51,204 new COVID cases, 1,097 deaths
The medical authorities in the United States have registered 51,204 new coronavirus infections during the past 24 hours, data gathered by the Johns Hopkins University revealed on Monday.
The number of fatalities attributed to the virus rose by 1,097 over the same period, with the country’s death toll now at 513,091.
Since the pandemic started, 28,605,669 people tested positive for the virus in the country. Apart from having the highest COVID case count, as well as the death toll, the US has vaccinated more people than any other country. The US Food and Drug Administration approved its third coronavirus vaccine during the weekend.
