Europe lower premarket with Paris under lockdown
Major stock markets in Europe were lower in premarket trade on Friday as the latest coronavirus-caused lockdown in the Paris area took effect from midnight local time. In Germany, the seven-day virus incidence rate increased to 95.6 after the country’s health authorities registered over 17,000 new infections over the past day.
The DAX decreased by 0.58% and London’s FTSE 100 declined 0.77% at 8:00 am CET. The CAC 40 was down 0.80% at 8:01 am CET.
The euro was 0.07% higher against the dollar at 8:01 am CET, trading at 1.19236. The British pound was flat compared to the American currency, going for 1.39221 a minute later.
