Oil rig count in US down by 1 to 342 – Baker Hughes
The number of oil rigs in the United States decreased by 1 compared to the week before, landing at 342 in the week ending April 30, the data published by Baker Hughes revealed on Friday. On an annual basis, the number of oil rigs increased by 17.
There were 96 gas rigs in the US in the week ending April 30, up by two from the prior week’s figure and by 15 more compared to last year. The total number of rigs in the country now stands at 440, which is two more than last week’s level and 32 more compared to the previous year’s count.
In Canada, the total rig count stood at 51, four fewer than last week and 24 more than 12 months ago. The number of oil rigs was 20, up by three on a weekly basis, while the gas rig count slid by seven from the previous week to land at 31. Year-over-year, Canada gained 13 oil rigs and 11 gas rigs.
