Netanyahu warns about ‘dangerous left-wing govt’
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on Thursday on opposition politician Yair Lapid’s announcement he has reached the necessary majority to form a government by urging “all legislators elected by votes from the right” to “oppose this dangerous left-wing government.”
Furthermore, he claimed the newly formed coalition was based on “selling out” the Negev, one of the regions that are a matter of dispute between Israel and Palestine, to the United Arab List, also known in Hebrew as Ra’am, the party that currently holds four seats in Knesset.
Earlier this week, Israeli opposition and Yesh Atid party leader Yair Lapid declared he has reached an agreement with Yamina’s Naftali Bennett and Ra’am’s Mansour Abbas to form a coalition government, thus ending Netanyahu’s 12-year run as the country’s prime minister.
