AZ vaccine highly effective against Delta strain – PHE
The Public Health England (PHE) stated on Monday its latest studies showed AstraZeneca PLC and Oxford University’s vaccine against COVID-19 is “highly effective” against hospitalizations with the Delta variant of the disease, formerly known as the Indian strain.
The PHE also found the jab is 92% efficient against the virus after two injected doses, while Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE’s product is 96% successful.
A previous study made by the PHE determined the two doses of AstraZeneca’s vaccine have an efficacy rate of between 85% and 90%.
