Spain beat Croatia in extra time, progress to quarterfinals
Spain defeated Croatia and will head to the Euro 2020 quarterfinals, with the score after the extra time reading 5:3.
After a tied first half, Luis Enrique’s squad took the 3:1 lead with the goals of Cesar Azpilicueta and Ferran Torres. World Cup runners-up managed to tie the game once again with Atalanta midfielder Mario Pasalic’s goal in stoppage time.
Alvaro Morata and Mikel Oyarzabal scored two goals within a three-minute span in the extra time, securing Spain’s passage to the quarterfinals where they will play against the winner of the match between France and Switzerland.
