WH invites labor, business groups to discuss infrastructure – report
The Biden administration invited members from business and labor groups to the White House, with the aim of conscripting their help in passing the bipartisan infrastructure bill, Axios reported on Friday.
Citing an administration official, the publication stated that the administration plans to strategize with the groups on how best to pass the bill, adding that it aims to build a large coalition involving all relevant stakeholders to make sure that the bipartisan bill on hard infrastructure passes.
The bipartisan framework has hit some speed bumps recently, as the question of pay-fors got brought up again with Senators doubtful that everything in the bill is covered. Finally, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced his plans to file a motion to set a procedural vote on the bill next week.
