Iran slams G7’s claims about Israeli tanker attack
Iran dismissed on Saturday the Group of Seven’s (G7) claims about evidence proving Tehran ordered the attack on the Israeli tanker Mercer Street.
“If we were to confront enemies […] we would declare it openly,” Iran’s Armed Forces Senior Spokesman, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, stated. “Contrary to the strategy of the United States, Britain and the Zionist regime [Israel], which aim to create insecurity […] Iran’s strategy is to strengthen security in the Persian Gulf.”
His remarks come in response to the G7’s joint statement in which they stated all the evidence shows Iran conducted the attack on the Mercer Street.
