S. Korea, US to hold drills despite Pyongyang knock – report
The United States and South Korea still plan to hold joint military drills despite heavy criticism from North Korea, Yonhap reported, citing sources within the Seoul government.
The source described the military exercises as “necessary for a combined readiness posture,” adding that the US looks at the drills the same way.
Kim Yo-jong, sister of North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un, previously urged Seoul not to go ahead with the planned drills, warning that the move could worsen the situation on the Korean peninsula.
