Dems urge Pelosi to allow standalone vote on infrastructure – report
A group of six Democratic Representatives has been circulating a letter in which they ask House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (pictured) to change her stance on the bipartisan infrastructure bill vote, and allow for the legislation to be voted on separately from the larger $3.5 trillion package, that is to be passed via a budget reconciliation process, The Hill reported, citing the document it obtained.
“As soon as the Senate completes its work, we must bring this bipartisan infrastructure bill to the House floor for a standalone vote. This once-in-a-century investment deserves its own consideration, without regard to other legislation,” the letter read.
Pelosi has, multiple times, reiterated her intent to bring both pieces of legislation to the floor at the same time.
