US opens lower ahead of job openings report
Major stock markets in the United States opened lower on Wednesday ahead of the Department of Labor’s newest report on job openings. Earlier, it was revealed demand for mortgages hit its two-month low last week. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden warned that climate change, which resulted in the ongoing extreme weather, represents an existential threat to the economy.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average went down by 0.15% at the opening as Salesforce.com Inc. decreased by 0.87%. The Nasdaq 100 declined by 0.06%, with NetEase Inc. going down by 2.28%. The S&P 500 fell by 0.14% as PulteGroup Inc. sank by 4.61%.
The euro lost 0.23% to the dollar at 9:27 am ET to sell for $1.18122.
