WHO urges govts to delay booster shots until 2022
Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom, urged wealthier countries on Wednesday to halt administering booster COVID-19 shots until the end of the year and donate the excess doses to states in need instead.
Dr. Tedros renewed his call amid considerations coming from the United States government to start offering booster shots later in September. “I will not stay silent when companies and countries that control the global supply of vaccines think the world’s poor should be satisfied with leftovers,” he stressed.
