China vows to ensure battery supplies for EV makers
The Chinese authorities will make efforts to ensure the supply of resources needed for the production of electric vehicles’ (EV) batteries, Beijing’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Deputy Minister Xin Guobin said on Thursday.
Delivering remarks at the World New Energy Vehicles Congress, he warned that the price of the domestic production of new energy vehicles (NEVs), partially or fully powered by electricity, “remains high,” as translated by Global Times.
The ministry will work to improve the “supply chain security” when it comes to access to lithium, cobalt, and nickel, he underlined.
