Chevron pledges to go carbon neutral by 2050
Chevron Corp. vowed on Monday to completely cut carbon emissions it produces by the middle of the century, joining the expanding list of energy firms that are transforming their businesses toward carbon neutrality.
“Solutions start with problem-solving, which is exactly what the people of Chevron do – and have excelled at for over 140 years. This report offers further insights about our strategy, how we are investing in lower-carbon businesses and why we believe this is an exciting time to be in the energy industry,” CEO Michael Wirth noted in the announcement.
Chevron is considered to be the second-largest oil company in the United States.
