Turkey starts purchase of F-16 jets – minister
Turkey has started the procedure for the purchase of F-16 multirole fighter aircraft from the United States, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar (pictured) announced on Saturday.
As quoted by the Anadolu news agency, the minister noted that the “technical work on the acquisition of the F-16 has begun.”
Ankara officials previously signaled that Turkey could procure fighter jets from Russia if it fails to reach an agreement with the US.
