Germany’s SPD, FDP, Greens reach coalition deal
Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD), Free Democratic Party (FDP) and the Greens reached a coalition deal, DPA reported on Wednesday.
The agreement, under which SPD’s Olaf Scholz (pictured) would likely take over as chancellor from Angela Merkel, is set to be presented at a press conference at 3 pm CET.
FDP’s Christian Lindner is expected to become Germany’s next finance minister, while the Greens are set to be in charge of the ministries of economy and foreign affairs.
