Frost resigns as Brexit negotiator
United Kingdom’s Brexit negotiator David Frost resigned from his position, saying that it was time to “hand over the baton to others to manage our future relationship with the European Union.”
Frost said that the decision was made earlier this month for him to resign in January of next year but due to some leaks of the deal he decided to step down effective immediately. In his resignation letter, he stated that it is up to Whitehall now to “deliver on the opportunities it [Brexity] gives us,” adding that Brexit is definitely secured.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson commended Frost on his service in government, saying that he is “grateful for all he has achieved” and he should proud of his “historic service” to the country.
