UK industrial output up 1% in November
Production output in the United Kingdom increased by 1% in November compared to the previous month, the Office for National Statistics revealed in its report on Friday.
According to the data, manufacturing, water supply and sewerage and electricity and gas contributed to the rise, growing by 1.1%, 1.6% and 1.3%, respectively. Meanwhile, mining and quarrying declined 1.3% and extraction of crude oil and natural gas slid 2.3%.
In the three months to November, total production decreased 0.1% compared to the previous three-month period. Production was 2.6% below the level it stood at in February 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic hit.
