Consequences to follow if Russia invades Ukraine – Germany
German Finance Minister Christian Lindner insisted on Tuesday that Russia will suffer severe consequences if it decides to invade Ukraine. However, Lindner didn’t comment on a possible government action related to the Nord Stream 2 in the case of an attack.
The comments come after a bilateral meeting between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and United States President Joe Biden that took place yesterday. Following the meeting, the White House insisted that it would work with Germany on ensuring the pipeline “does not move forward” in case of an invasion.
