4 more European states to close airspace to Russia
Four more countries joined on Sunday the call to shut the European airspace off for Russian aircraft. Officials from Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and Iceland confirmed their governments’ decisions ahead of a meeting of foreign ministers of the European Union on the subject.
“Our European skies are open skies. They’re open for those who connect people, not for those who seek to brutally aggress,” Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo (pictured) said. Meanwhile, France continues to examine the possibility of closing its airspace, while calling for “rapid European coordination.”
