Talks without preconditions ‘victory for Ukraine’ – FM
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Sunday that the fact that Russia agreed to negotiations without preconditions is “already a victory for Ukraine.” He explained the Ukrainian delegation is prepared to discuss “stopping the war and de-occupying our territories” as well as to “listen to what Russia has to say.”
Kuleba also commented on Russia’s decision to put its nuclear deterrence system on high alert shortly before the announcement of the upcoming negotiations. He said it is an “attempt to raise the stakes and put pressure on Ukrainian delegation, and adding that, “if it is a direct threat, then it will be a catastrophe for the world but it will not break us down.”
