Russian reps arrive in Belarus for talks – Kremlin
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday that the Russian delegation has arrived in Belarus for negotiations with Ukraine. He added the team consists of “representatives of the Foreign Ministry, the Defense Ministry and other agencies, including the presidential administration,” who stand ready to start the talks in the city of Gomel.
However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy dismissed the possibility to negotiate in Belarus after Russia attacked Ukraine from Belarusian territory. He said he is open to talks in other countries that have not been hostile to Ukraine. “Of course, we want peace. We want to meet, we want an end to the war! Warsaw, Bratislava, Budapest, Istanbul, Baku – we offered it to the Russian side. And any other city suits us in a country where missiles do not fly. Only then can negotiations be fair,” Zelensky stated.
