Zelensky: Negotiations should begin with a ceasefire
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that he is ready to negotiate with Russia; however, any negotiations must begin with a ceasefire.
“A group of Ukrainians and Russian representatives are discussing specific issues. They began talking about something, and not just throwing out ultimatums,” Zelensky told a press conference. Later on, he added that he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and insisted that it was not the time to hold a meeting in Russia or Belarus but agreed to do it in Israel.
Asked about NATO membership, he further expressed that he doesn’t see a “common consensus” to accept Ukraine into the alliance.
