Halliburton halts future business in Russia
Halliburton Co. announced on Friday that it will be halting any future business in Russia, as a response to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
“The war in Ukraine deeply saddens us. We have employees in both Ukraine and Russia, and the conflict greatly impacts our people, their families, and loved ones throughout the region,” stated Halliburton CEO Jeff Miller, adding that the company “prioritized employee safety and compliance with all relevant sanctions” ever since the beginning of the conflict.
Halliburton prohibited “transactions and work, including for certain state-owned Russian customers,” the statement read. Earlier, the company suspended all product shipments to Russia.
