WH annuls CDC advice for seniors not to fly – report
The White House overruled health officials who recommended Americans who are older and have some physical condition, not to fly on commercial airlines due to coronavirus.
A federal official familiar with the situation told The Associated Press that Trump administration officials said certain people should not travel by plane, but didn’t explicitly ban it.
On Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended older adults and people with medical conditions such as heart, lung or kidney disease to “stay home as much as possible” and avoid crowded spaces or bigger gatherings. However, it didn’t specifically address flying.
